1. Matchday Policy

As representatives of Washington United FC we ask that the following is adhered regarding match days:

GENERAL

- Match information (opponent/venue/kick-off time and any instructions MUST be displayed on the Pitchero app/website as soon as this information is available to the team manager/admin and ALL players/parents should be prompted for availability via the app. Having effective communication will allow for contingencies to be put in place should a team struggle to fulfil a fixture due to player numbers.

- The team will arrive promptly before the kick-off. Managers are to decide what is an appropriate time to arrive to warm up and prepare for the match. THIS INFORMATION MUST BE COMMUNICATED VIA THE MATCH INFORMATION SECTION ON THE PITCHERO APP/WEBSITE.

- All team mangers/coaches must carry 1 copy of their Whole Game System team list on themselves when attending matches, this may be required by the opposition team to validate players and also can be requested by yourself of the opposition if you are unhappy with something to do with their squad registration. When a player is added or removed from your squad, please contact the Club Secretary to confirm your team is updated on Pitchero and the WGS and a new squad list will be provided.

- Whilst attending a match venue ALL players, parents and coaches must conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner. Any disciplinary fines that are occurred by a player or coach will be the responsibility of that player or coach to pay, and any team disciplinary fines for conduct and behaviour will be the responsibility of the team to pay personally or will come out of a team’s account. If no money is in the account, then it will be the responsibility of the team to pay personally.

- If a fixture cannot be fulfilled, then the team must inform the RFYL or Durham FA within adequate time (at least 24 hrs.) to allow both to re-arrange the fixture or for the match to be conceded.

- For our Southern Area and Burnmoor venues, the pitches will be inspected every Friday for condition and playability. The decision made at this time by the club official will be FINAL and adhered to. If a decision is made that the venue is not playable then please contact the opposition and RFYL/Durham FA as soon as possible to postpone your fixture.

MINI SOCCER

- For central venue/mini soccer games, match/referee fees must be paid upon arrival. For RFYL games this is currently a cash payment of £10 (U7/U8) and £15 (U9/U10) respectively. For Durham Sunday League Mini Soccer games these fees are paid in advance by the club.

*From the start of the 2023/24 season, ALL RFYL Mini Soccer fees will be paid via invoice by the club*

- For Mini Soccer games, after a game has finished please make sure that you are forthcoming in congratulating the other team and referee for the game played. Respect is an important part of the club ethos, and we ask that this is instilled in the players, parents and coaches regardless of the match result. On exit from the venue can the manager please give the result of their game to the RFYL representatives to make sure that the result is logged and league tables are correct.

9 OR 11-A-SIDE GAMES

- For 9-a-side and 11-a-side home fixtures all opponents MUST be informed of match details (venue and kick-off time) as soon as the team coach is aware of these details.

- At home fixtures at 9-a-side and 11-a-side, coaches must arrive with enough time before kick-off to place nets in the goals and erect the Respect barriers. As is continuing club policy the coach of the first game on a pitch will place and erect these both, and the coach of the last game on a pitch will take and collect these. Unless personal arrangements have been made to transfer the nets and barriers to another coach for the next round of games then all club nets and barriers MUST be returned to the bins in the container at Burnmoor, before or on the Tuesday after the match has taken place.

- For 9-a-side and 11-a-side games you will need to pay the referee fee directly to the referee. This can be paid before kick-off, or at another time at the referee’s discretion. The amounts paid to the referee vary in different age groups and can be obtained from the club when needed.

- After 9-a-side and 11-a-side games, after a game has finished please make sure that you are forthcoming in congratulating the other team and referee for the game played. Respect is an important part of the club ethos, and we ask that this is instilled in the players, parents and coaches regardless of the match result. Please also make sure that you fill in relevant match information on the RFYL/Durham FA websites promptly, to make sure that all information is communicated quickly and accurately.
