3. Match Fee Policy

U11 to Adult Match fees

For league and cup fixtures at U11-Adult a referee is required to officiate the match. Washington United FC will aim to provide a list of referees and links to various apps and pages online that have contacts of referees in the area. This list will be updated every season from the start of 2023/24. If as a team coach/admin you find a referee that is not on our list please pass that information to the Club Secretary to add to the list when able.

From the date of this document the club will pay for any referee/match fees for any official RFYL and Durham FA league and cup fixtures. This fee must be paid by the team coach/admin to the organisers or the referee themselves depending on the age group of your team. This amount will currently need to be paid in cash to the official prior to the game, unless the official states otherwise.

The club will reimburse the cost of match/referee fees to the team coach/admin. These fees can also be asked for in advance of a fixture if required. To gain reimbursement or upfront payment the following must be adhered to:

- You must contact the club at fees@washingtonunited.co.uk with your reimbursement/upfront payment information. This must include: Team name, opposition name, date of fixture, type of fixture (league or cup) and amount required.
- To save on the volume of requests you can claim up to 28 concurrent days of fixtures from the date of request at any one time. Any claim outside of this will be rejected by the club and the cost will fall on to the team manager to cover.
As an example of this, A claim on the 28th of the month for a match fee on the 1st of that month will be reimbursed, but if the claim is made on the 29th of the month then it will be rejected.

Mini Soccer Central Venue Match Fees

From the beginning of the 2023/24 season is looking to arrange a club-wide invoiced system with the RFYL and Durham FA leagues in relation to match fees. Once this is in place then coaches/team admins at mini soccer level will no longer need to deal with cash transactions at central venues.
Friendlies and Tournament Match Fees

Any match/referee fees for friendlies/tournaments will NOT be paid for by the club. Payment for these types of games must come from either team sponsorship accounts or via personal means.
