23 year old goalkeeper, Curtis Richardson has joined the club on loan from Northern League Division One side Seaham Red star FC.
The Stopper, previously of, Seaham Redstar, Birtley Town, Jarrow Roofing, bedlington Terriers and Durham City AFC is excited to get going and win games in a Washington shirt.
Richardson told the club “ It feels like they want to exceed. The gaffers have told me their vision and it’s the same as what I expect.
I demand the best from my teammates, I expect to compete every game and if we don’t win to at least draw! I’m a serial winner cam will tell you”
When questioned on how he thought the club was set up for being a new team Curtis said
“ The set up is brilliant they have a great knowledge of the league and what they need to do to get out of it and only better themselves. They work so hard behind the scenes to get the players to make them achieve what they want to do. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t believe in what they say.”
Manager Cameron Thompson is over the moon to have Curtis’s signature:
“Curtis is a real winner, he won’t except nothing but the best and it’s a fantastic attribute to have. It’s the kind of me mentality we are trying to create here.
Curtis is well wanted by many clubs and that shouldn’t come as a surprise. He’s everything you can expect from a modern day keeper and I’m excited to get him in with the rest of the lads”
Tomorrow the league will meet with Public health to decide wether this weekends game against Annfield plain will go ahead.
