22-year-old, Stephen Ord, has joined Washington United for the 2020/21 campaign.

The courageous midfielder has re-joined manager Cameron Thompson after performing well under him at Durham City Reserves.

Ord said: “I am really looking forward to joining Washington.”

“My aims for the upcoming season is to go and win this league and get to at least one, if not two cup finals.”

Cameron Thompson is delighted to be signing of one his former players.

Thompson said: “This addition, amongst others, will be perfect for our squad.”

“Stephen slotted in so well with my formations and tactics at Durham City Reserves, I’m sure he will be able to do the same here.”

Ord said: “I chose to join Washington because Cameron had been my manager last season.”

“His ideas of how he wants to play football is really good, but also he has the motivation to improve us as players and is a winner.”

“That is the mentality I want and have as a player so that helped with my decision.”

Stephen Ord showed his passion for the area and knowledge of how it will help thise locally to have a team to get behind.

Ord said: “The club will mean a lot to the area as it gives them the chance to see a there local team not only competing in the league, but challenging at the very top.”
