Washington United have signed 24-year-old central midfielder Jack Young.
Young played for Durham City last season and previously played for Hebburn Town Reserves, where he won the Wearside League First Division in 2018/19.
He will add much needed competition to Cameron Thompson’s team, who currently sit 14th in the First Division table.
On joining the club, Young said: “'I am very happy to be joining a club that has the right ambitions to go far in this league, it is also my local club.
My aims are for the club to finish as high as possible and build a strong squad to progress with in the following season.
Also, a personal ambition for me is to become club captain”
Young will join the lads for training this week, ahead of their trip to Annfield plain this Saturday.
On signing Young, Thompson said: “The signing of Jack Young just emphasises how seriously people should take Washington United despite us being a new side.
He comes in bringing all his assets to the table, as well as his knowledge and understanding of the game. Not to forget his experience of not only playing in this league but winning it.
I am delighted to have him on board and look forward to the success he could potentially have in a Washington shirt.”
