Dark, Dank and Miserable.

Was it on, was it off...

Up at the crack of dawn and we wondered, eagerly waiting by the phone for Coach Willis to send that message.

In our chat, we were pondering the weather, glancing up at the skies, and finding it incredibly rude that the manager of Whitburn and Cleadon hadn't confirmed the quality of the pitch...later finding out he was ill...?. The other coach mind...*NO COMMENT*

Finally the message came through and we were off.

Driving through puddles and frizzle (that's drizzle that turns your hair frizzy) we landed at the pitch.

Half cut well, half cut with scissors.

Horrible, basically.

First half we were into the wind and combining that with the pitch quality, and 2 good strikes from the opposition it was slightly baffling how, but we recognised it...

Too much faffing around in the box! Get a hold of that ball, get it away!

We were 2-0 in the first and brought our spirits back to life with a great corner in from Jase that landed perfectly for Felix who cracked it into the goal.

That's more like it. Fire in our bellies we were going again.

3 yellow cards on, for pathetic behaviour...kicking the ball away, almost destroying Willis and another which I forgot, we were into the 2nd half, pressing, pushing, playing like we always do with our Never Give Up attitude!!!

Onwards we battled and with some great corner work from Jake, Lewis bags our second. His face man, lit up the dark, dank, miserable skies!

After a clatter and a free kick to Whitburn and, it rattled around the box with Butler pulling off a double save, and the Finn takes the ball abd he's away!

And then he's taken down. He laughs, pathetic pointless foul.

Final whistle goes and we end on Tutu!

What a game. We fought on, hard as we needed to and we NEVER GAVE UP!

NEVER!

AT ALL!

NOT FOR ONCE!

And it's onto the next one.

Well done lads, a point in the bag from our first of the season.
