What did we learn from this match?

9am! Down Spennymoor? For goodness sake.

Early start then, but we'll repay them.

It started well, hard and fast and at them and Spenny held us up well. To and fro up and down the pitch - which was uphill for us in the first half and a bit too soft on our right side, but a lovely pitch nonetheless (not as good as Whickhams mind!).

After a good first 10 or 15 minutes, Spennymoor got the upper hand and cracked one through our lads making it 1-0, to them.

Much of a muchness as the second goal went through, the lads must realise that once collected, the ball might just be played out quicker than they realise - something to learn and remember! 2-0 Spennymoor.

Second half action saw a booking (which hasn't appeared on the Russell Foster website so we'll have to keep watching for that) as Willis was chopped again, 2 footed studs up which impacted so hard, he was airlifted off the field by Butler Senior, and we discovered a mighty stud mark on his shin.

Should've been a red, but the ref really didn't see ALL of it so awarded a Yellow (we hope).

Last 15 minutes of the second half saw us power up again, perhaps 2 goals down dented us a little but it happens

All in all, it was great football with the ever reliable defence, wingers, midfield, keeper all working hard. We cannot fault the teams performance at all!

We must take the next 5 seconds to relive an unbelievable performance from Joe Spuhler who earned his MOTM today, highly effective playing right back battling to the lines, tidying up when needed, and sending the ball up the field! Well done Joe ?.

Look, we've learned that early morning matches are not really our thing, so going to bed early (as Coach Willis always requests) is a must. Getting up early, stretching, eating a decent but light breakfast is a must.

It might also be good to shout more for fouls and offsides, despite how experienced a referee may be, they can be influenced.

Lecture over.

It was a 'learning' match this morning lads. Take note of everything that was seen, done and undone. Our time will come. We work very hard for it.

And we go again!

#NeverGiveUp.
