The Blues may have lost out to Ouston, 3-1, but the scoreline is irrelevant. What is important was the tactical awareness that the players showed and a "Never-Say-Die" attitude.
A new system, only sprung on the team that morning, saw players rotate positions during the match; covering each other when a player attacked the opposition and others keep shape brilliantly. The Blues, played some excellent football and played as a team throughout. Only a lack of a cutting edge kept the scoreline in Ouston's favour.
With no substitutes available the team ran their socks off and, understandably, became tired in the final five minutes. Ouston played well also with some good individual performances.
The Blues' Coaches and Parents were all really pleased with the progression, attitude and commitment the kids showed. The team were all pleased with their efforts and were all smiling at the end of (and during!) the game.
