The Blues were dominant against Washington Athletic Lyon. They played good football, mixing the play between powerful runs forward, creative passing and the odd "have it!" up field.
Only a lack of finishing prowess held the team back; so work for the Coaches when planning training sessions over the Christmas break.
Danny scored a great free kick and the whole team continued to adapt to playing in new positions. The Blues are even developing the ability to swap positions during the game. This ensures each player is becoming comfortable in all areas of the pitch. Great for development and befitting of the team philosophy.
The coaches couldn't be more proud of the team's endeavour and attitude in difficult conditions at a freezing (literally) Temple Park. A lucky goal from Lyon kept the Blues pegged back but it was nice for the opposition to score their first ever goal, evidenced by the delight from the parents and coaches. The Blues know the feeling of waiting for that first goal!
Have great Christmas break, Blues!
