We went into our ninth game of the season against Shotton Colts with Jaxon leading us out as captain. From kick off we looked sharp today and looked a lot more organised with people moving into there own positions without us needing to tell them. Within 2 minutes we saw ourselves 1-0 up after Jaxon picked the ball up and went on a run before blasting the ball home. We looked comfortable from here on and Shotton Colts couldn't match us for sharpness or footballing ability today. Any time Shotton Colts got the ball we quickly won possession back with some great tackles or some great interceptions, we only struggled with one player today who was too strong for us at first and this showed on the 5th minute when he went on a run through our whole team to finish from a tight angle. Minutes later he went on another run and looked like scoring again only to be denied by a great save from Albie who parried the first shot out and quickly got up to pounce on the ball before the striker got to it. This woke us up again and we started to play some great passes to each other with no one panicking on the ball and just getting rid of it, we train on passing and moving into space and this really showed today. We also grew in confidence and started to tackle the player and this showed straight away when he received the ball only for Fran, Shay and Jaxon all charge in on him and not hold back on the tackles. On the 7th minute we broke out and Jaxon found himself one on one with the goalkeeper from the half way line, he carried the ball really well and drew the keeper out before shooting only for the ball to hit off the keeper and fall for an open goal. With Frans none stop running there was only ever going to be one player who was keeping up with Jaxon on the attack and she gave herself the tap in through her hard work. On the 8th minute we brought Seth off the bench for Shay and moved Josh up into midfield with him still desperately searching for this first goal of the season. This nearly came twice today but with one shot going just wide and the other chance just passing him by this will have to wait for another week. At half time we went in 2-1 up but this didn't really reflect the game as we looked the much better team up to this point.

We kicked off the second half bringing Blake and Jack on for Josh and Fran and also moved Jaxon into goal. If Shotton Colts thought they had a tough first half the second half was going to get worse for them. On the 16th minute Jack picked the ball up and ran with it getting past 3 players before getting his 15th of the season. Jacks quick skilful little feet were too much for Shotton Colts today and every time he got the ball he would easily get past 2 or 3 players before either shooting himself or laying it off for someone else to have a shot. We kept the pressure on and most of the second half was Shotton Colts having a goal kick with us quickly pressing them and having a shot which would go just wide. With Blake telling us about his new celebration before the game we were certain at some point today we would see this and this came on the 21st minute after one of his long range shots after a great run flew in this time. On another day Blake would have easily had a hat trick but today saw his shots either just go wide or saw him slip over before pulling the trigger for a guaranteed goal. The the 22nd minute we brought Albie on for Seth who once again had a great game with his positional play and reading of the game improving every week. On the 25th minute Jack once again got the ball with Shotton Colts not being able to get it back off him he went on another run beating players with ease before getting his second of the game. Jack made the game look easy today with his feet and movement being far too good for the opposition often beating a player to then let the player get back only to beat him again! On the 27th minute we saw another moment of magic as the eagle eyed Jack picked the ball up on the wing before beating one player and slowing the game down to then beat another 2 with some great skills to get the the bar line only to draw the keeper out before squaring it to Albie to finish it off. The game ended 6-1 and it could have easily been more today with every player having a great game.

Today was a great result and a great performance from the team with every player improving week in week out and making us look like a dangerous team to play against. Player of the match was a tough choice between Seth and Jack. Seth for his positional play and reading of the game and stopping attacks and Jack for his outstanding performance today scoring 2 and setting up 1 with great footwork. In the end we went with Seth as it is just as important in a football match to keep the opposition out as it is to score goals. We are in great form with a record of 8 wins and only 1 defeat. What is more impressive is that we have scored 45 goals now and only conceded 15 with 6 of these being in the same game. Our top scorer is currently Jack on 12 goals with Blake and Jaxon both close behind him on 9 each. We now look like we have shape and a game plan with 2 solid defenders in Josh and Seth who both understand now when the clear the ball and when to run with it. Both these are now reading the game much better and have a new confidence in getting stuck in and not afraid to get some strong tackles in. This is massively helped with Albie being behind them and both defenders must feel confident that if a chance does come up for the opposition Albie has this covered. He has kept us in .games this season with some great saves at important times and going into every game i feel confident with him being in net. Most of the 15 goals conceded have been when Albie comes out of net and i am pretty sure he has kept close to 5 or 6 clean sheets himself up to now. In midfield we look strong with Fran constantly running and tackling giving the opposition no time on the ball what so ever, every week she gets back to help the defenders out and somehow is also up front helping the attackers out. I now know how Chelsea most feel having Kante in midfield. Shay has also massively improved and his biggest improvement is tackling. The last few weeks and especially today he has got stuck right in winning the ball back. He now goes hunting for the ball and it doesn't matter how big the opposition is he isn't scared to go in for it. Jaxon has brought strong running to the team with him often picking the ball up after flying in for a tackle to then run at players. He has also more than chipped in with the goals and constantly looks dangerous when going forward. His attitude is great and his no fear approach to the game is exactly what we need. Blake has been unbelievable up to now for us and also has chipped in with the goals. He gets back well and normally picks the ball up at the back and goes on great runs which a number of teams have not been able to cope with. He is a strong runner with the ball and has a great shot on him and his performances for us up to now have rightly been rewarded with him being scouted by Sunderland. Our youngest player is Jack who has fitted into the team great and found himself our top scorer. Jack is an absolute baller and his quick feet often prove too much for teams. He is our most skilful player and often it is hard to understand how he is 1 year younger than the others and is already this talented.
