Europa League Champions ground Falcons

We went into our fourteenth game of the season against Roseberry Park Falcons with Albie leading us out as captain. We went into the game in high spirits after our Christmas break where we entered a tournament and won the Europe league final. From kick off today our passing looked really good with everyone getting the ball and looking for a pass instead of just trying to run with it. With some great passing moves we were unlucky not to score a few times in the opening minutes with the goalkeeper keeping Roseberry in the game. We also got caught out twice early on which saw Roseberry running at Albie one on one, on both occasions Albie was off his line quick to dive down on the ball and make 2 great saves. On the 4th minute we put a lovely passing move together down our right hand side which saw Jack pass to Shay, Shay took a touch before passing to Blake on the edge of the box who smashed it into the bottom corner to break the dead lock. We pinned Roseberry in their own half from here and when we won the ball back we kept putting together great passing moves with all of our players in space. On the 6th minute Roseberry played a goal kick out which we quickly pressed which saw Blake put in a good tackle before quickly getting his shot away giving the goalkeeper no chance and putting us 2-0 up. From here we pushed on and kept creating great chances which saw a few of our players one on one only to be denied by either a great save or us hitting the post. At half time we looked the better team and it was the best i have seen us play passing wise in a game with the majority of our moves coming down the right.

We made a few changes second half and hoped we would continue to dominate the game and carry on from the first half. The second half started the same way as the first ended with us looking the better team and keeping Roseberry stuck in their own half. On the 17th minute we put another great passing move together when Blake passed to Jack who used his quick tricky feet to easily glide past one player before passing the ball ahead of Blake into space for him to run onto and finish for his hat trick. Blake wasn't happy with 1 hat trick and 1 minute later ran in to tackle Roseberry and take a long range strike which hit the post and went in for this 4th of the game. Roseberry brought on a 6th player at this point to try and even the game out a bit but this didn't stop Blake getting his 5th of the game 1 minute later when yet again Roseberry tried to play out from a goal kick which we quickly closeed down and Blake ran in to get his tackle in before getting his shot away. Even with the numerical disadvantage we stuck to our game plan and kept quickly pressurising Roseberry. On the 25th minute Fran ran in to tackle before passing it off to Blake on the half way line and with his confidence sky high he tried his luck just inside Roseberrys half. The ball flew in to get him his double hat trick and a nice £20. With the full time whistle going we saw ourselves win 6-0

This was easily the best we have passed the ball around in a game and if we can carry this on we will be a much better team. Today our defenders would get the ball at the back and pass it to our midfielders who would then pass around each other before creating chance after chance for our strikers. We need to work on not chasing the ball so much and sticking to positions so when we have the ball we have plenty of passing options but today was very promising. With Steven wanting to talk to parents today it was left to Michael 'the tactician tinker man' Duffield to get the best out of the players and obviously a little tweak the team and to Blakes game today saw massive results. Today was yet another clean sheet with our defenders quickly ending Roseberrys attacks with some great tackles and the odd time we did get broken past Albie produced some great saves which we all expect from him now. Player of the match will come as no surprise to anyone as Blake picked this up after scoring 6 goals and having an amazing game. The race for the golden boot is also hotting right up now and after today's performance Blake has seen himself move out as the front runner. Blake now has got 19 goals with both Jack and Jaxon right behind him on 15 each.
